A good grower, it's endemic to California, semi coastal and coastal areas from just north of San Francisco to around Eureka. This evergreen shrub grows 4 ft by 4 ft and requires well drained soil. In our experience, this is one of the most difficult manzanitas to get established, but it is worth the effort.
